Valeryl-CoA is a thioester derivative of Coenzyme A involved in fatty acid metabolism. As a medium-chain acyl-CoA, it serves as an intermediate in various metabolic pathways, including the oxidation and elongation of fatty acids and the biosynthesis of complex lipids. Valeryl-CoA is also a substrate for several enzymes involved in energy production and cellular signaling.
